Tell people you are going to El Centro and they think to themselves "what for?" However, we have found a gem of an RV park just west of El Centro and off the beaten path. Other than some issues with reservations, the park has many nice amenities and friendly people. Most arrived early on Thursday to avoid the high winds predicted for the afternoon then gathered for Happy Hour.
Friday evening was a fish fry. We gathered outside around the pool, and near the bar, to have a great meal together and enjoy the entertainment.
Saturday had clear blue skies, a wonderful day to enjoy the air show either at the base or from the park itself.
That evening the entertainment was a Journey Tribute band. Some paid the cover charge and sat up close with the crowd. Others could hear they music from our own gathering around the Nelson's rig.
On Sunday a group went out to golf while enjoying the absolutely beautiful weather. They enjoyed a light lunch on the clubhouse patio afterwards. We used the activity center for a pot luck that evening. It was long, drawn out meal as people arrived on time, late and very late. It was like a progressive dinner in one place 😋 followed by playing pool.
