The Shanty Shaker rally to Pahrump, Nevada this month proved to be small but very enjoyable. We had five rigs and got to enjoy the company of fairly new SS members, Eben and Sonya Longfellow, with their gorgeous dog, Lucky. Not the 1960's Disneyland pristine as it once was, but a nice rv park. There are lots of trees. We have been blessed with some mighty fine weather.
While our small and relaxing group paled in comparison to last month's Yucaipa's entertaining bonanza, hosted by Sherry and Bobby Blankenship, (GREAT JOB),
The small oasis lakeside campground in the middle of the desert was nice, offering a walkway circumventing the small lake. There was a small casino and restaurant on site. We enjoyed our happy hours and potluck under the shady trees on grassy knolls

Family and friends were visited by some. We visited a nice nearby winery and we played golf. We did experience a windy adventure back, but we all returned to camp again.

Hope to gather in Quartzsite with some shanties shakers. It too will be a small gathering but nice to catch up with everyone there.

Our fun SS couple the Blankenship’s had to decide not to come to Q. Bobbie had a bad car accident just outside our park. He suffered a head injury and a broken ankle. Not his fault as a speedy guy going too fast ran the red light and crashed into Bobbie. Sherry is taking good care of him. They got a new car and will be back on the road soon.
