After making their way south to the Chula Vista Marina, members were pleasantly surprised at the beautiful scene on the bay and all the boats in the marina. A few asked for directions to take a walk to explore the area more. Forty people were seated for lunch but not before Wayne held a drawing for 2 Amazon gift cards then started an icebreaker asking members to introduce themselves and share how long they have been RVing and what kind of rig they have. We heard stories about camping as a child with their parents and a few stories about how the progression went from tent, to pop-up tent trailer, to trailer, to full size Motor Homes.
Our waiters, Chris and Anthony did an admirable job keeping the senior citizens happy (no easy feat) with getting their drinks and taking lunch orders. The world famous Fish and Chips seemed to be a very popular choice as well as the tacos. Nobody went home hungry and many had leftovers for dinner or tomorrows lunch.
While the room continued to buzz with lively conversation, the 35th Anniversary of Shanty Shakers (formed August 24, 1989) cake was served by Wayne and Mary B (great job...not a piece remained)
