Escapades in Wyoming

Submitted by Barbara Lukehart

First evening of volunteering at Escapees 63rd Escapade. It was cold and quite windy out there in Rock Springs, Wyoming! I had no windshield and I was pelted with dust and sand!

Shanty Shaker, David HEIMAN, came to our rescue to assist in getting our rear view camera working!

Dancing in the parking lot while on “People Mover” duty and  awaiting the end of the music program.

Susan, on staff for the prizes and raffles, saw us and snapped several pictures of us … dancing to the music 🎶, in the parking lot!

Tina & John Campella, staff, recognized our names on our tags and was so happy to put faces to names on her volunteer list for the October Hot Air Balloon Festival in Albuquerque!

We purchased all the chair umbrellas ( 12 total ) from two Walmarts for our group of 5 rigs in our group,  who will be attending the  October Balloon Festival.

Goggles and sunglasses! Fashion statement! After such horrific wind and eye blasting the evening before, the morning of the second day of volunteer driving, we bought some GOGGLES! Plus, I used two yellow lanyards from the name tags and tied on my hat from blowing away!

Frank volunteered for three days of 3 1/2 hour shifts at the POPCORN  booth 🍿

Our 21’ Bigfoot and Nissan Armada next to Escapee member, Sandy Brock’s 25’ Bigfoot. These were the only two Bigfoots on the lot of 600+ RVs.

Kleen Tank folks who fixed Sandy’s stopped sewie.

These are the recommended items to keep your sewie moving.

We purchased a RockPot! This will cook and keep warm food for 9 hours! This will be wonderful for our potlucks! Two friends already want one! Hey! I can save you $20,  if you use my discount code: Barbara10

Check it out!

We were proud when they announced Shanty Shaker group for their 35th  anniversary! We have the certificate to bring back to our group!

We hosted a gathering at our trailer the third day for the Wash Wax All Cleaners group. I was kinda hoping he’d clean our trailer, but he stayed in 2 small areas , including the door. He said with the size of our rig, it should only take about an hour ! This is the same product that is used on Air Force One. So I thought it probably would be really good stuff

Quite a crowd gathered for this rig cleaning demonstration

Happy trails !

MANY THANKS TO BARBARA AND FRANK FOR THEIR VOLUNTEERING SPIRIT !

We had a very nice time at the Escapade.  We attended several of the seminars.  George Kerr (Chapter 2) and I led a seminar on Radio communications including Ham and GMRS, which was very well received.  Janis volunteered at the Boomers booth on The Row and also as a golf cart driver for the transportation team.

We enjoyed spending time with and meeting other Escapees.

We also had our tanks cleaned, our roof inspected and maintenance done while at Escapade.
