A small but mighty group of us had a wonderful rally in Yosemite. We met at Thousand Trails Resort which is between the cute town of Groveland and Yosemite, and planned our excursions into the Park, which included driving through the (scary) stone tunnels, seeing the famous sites, hiking easy trails, exploring the beautiful Ahwahnee Hotel, visiting the Indian Village, driving to Tanaya Lake and Mono Lake and, for a few of us lucky ones, a ride on the Sugar Pines Railroad in Oakhurst.
We finished up with another potluck and shared stories of our short but sweet rally. There was very little traffic, thanks to Yosemite’s reservation system, and the weather was generally perfect, except for haze in Yosemite Valley a few times, and the final day when smoke from the surrounding fires turned our sky orange.
