Chapter 25 stayed very busy this fall with fun activities.
SEPTEMBER: Clark and Betty Paxton hosted 30 Shanty Shakers and 3 guests at
the Spaghetti Factory in San Marcos .
They enjoyed a yummy Italian lunch along with lots of visiting, story
telling, and sharing of travel stories.
OCTOBER: Nineteen rigs joined in the fun for a rally at the
Lake Skinner Recreation area. Thanks to Doris
and Ed Kalenda for hosting the shindig and a job well done. Many went to the swap meet at Jojoba Hills Escapee RV Resort in Aguanga
and found some bargain treasures. Heavy
hors d’oeuvres were enjoyed at happy hour one night and on the final evening a
pot luck with a variety of delicious food was savored by everyone. It was nice
to have Mary Wilson attend the rally and
she enjoyed being with her RVing friends again.
NOVEMBER: Thirty
three members journeyed to Yuma
to view the Balloon Festival. The weather was good and the launch field was in
walking distance of the campsite. Hosts Pete & Nancy Thompson organized happy
hours and a few meals at local establishments. They did a wonderful job and we
thank them!!
No grass growing under the feet of the Shakers that’s for sure. Thank you
to all who hosted a rally in 2012. You made it a great year and we look forward
